Jack Ryan, Class of 2017, is a sophomore majoring in Microbiology and Neuroscience with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. Jack is an Arthur R. Metz Scholar, an Indiana University Founders Scholar, and a member of the Hutton Honors College. In addition to being an Associate Justice of the Court, Jack is also the Advisory Board Director for the IU Swim Club and a member of the IU Men’s Water Polo team.

He serves as a peer mentor in the Hutton Honors College and as a council officer for the HHCA. Jack is an undergraduate research intern at the Winkler Lab in the Department of Biology where he currently works with bacterial genetics. Outside of his academic and research activities, Jack is employed as a lifeguard by Campus Recreational Sports and coaches the St. Charles middle school swim team. Born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana, Jack graduated with academic honors from Bloomington High School North in 2013. While at BHSN, Jack served as captain of the North Brain Game team and Co-President for the Habitat for Humanity chapter. He was a four-year class representative on the Student Council and a member of both the Cougar Leader Council and the National Honor Society. Jack was a varsity baseball player and swimmer, earning NISCA All-America and IHSSCA Academic All-State honors. He is an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the Presidential Service Award.
