Resolution to Support the Use of Recycled Paper for Printers on IU Bloomington's Campus

Whereas, Indiana University Perdue Indianapolis has passed a resolution to encourage the use of recycled paper across their campuses;

Whereas, the use of recycled paper is in accordance with the goals outlined by the Indiana University Office of Sustainability, specifically maximizing the efficiency of campus resource use;

Whereas, reduced resource use is in the best interest of our current as well as future student bodies, as well as forthcoming generations;

Whereas, there is no functional difference between paper with recycled content and paper without recycled content;

Whereas, the additional cost of using recycled paper compared with the cost of using recycled paper could be offset by reducing paper use, which resolution 14-15-03 (Resolution To Make Double Sided Printing The Default Setting On IU Bloomington Campus Computers) could do;

Therefore, that the executive branch of IUSA in conjunction with other departments or groups with a vested interest in technology services at IU shall come together to discuss the possibility of using recycled paper throughout Indiana University buildings.
